Hi-Tech Hand Tools (formerly known as Hi-Tech Company) was
founded in 1979 by James and Betty Murphy in Denton, Texas. In 1985 the company
was relocated to Kerrville, Texas, located approximately 60 miles northwest of
San Antonio deep within the heart of the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
The company began with one product, a patented Retaining Ring Pliers capable of
servicing both internal and external retaining rings. Out of the success of this
one unique tool, grew a family of patented products, which are used in
industries around the world.
In 1999 Hi-Tech was acquired by A & E Incorporated of Racine, Wisconsin. The
late Daniel M. Lang founded A & E Incorporated in 1932. From this one-man
operation A & E has developed a family of companies which manufacturers and
distributes specialty automotive/ industrial tools, small engine pulleys, and
produces custom contract metal stampings, and distributes quality German tools.
A & E Incorporated remains a privately owned "family" business.
Hi-Tech offers its products under the Hi-Tech Tools brand as well as provides
private labeling requirements for companies in many different industries.
Included in the long list of private label customers are Sears, Snap-on, Bahco
Tools, and Wright Tools. The Hi-Tech Tools brand can be purchased through many
of the larger industrial suppliers such as McMaster-Carr, Lawson Products, MSC/J&L
Industrial Supply, and Motion Industries, as well as, many warehouse
distributors across the United States.
The unique patented design of the Hi-Tech products offers a superior advantage
to competitive tools while maintaining a price far below that of most
competitive products. The main feature of the Hi-Tech product offering is the
internal and external convertibility feature. This allows one tool to work in
both an internal and an external operation. Furthermore, this product
incorporates replacement tips, which enables the user to service a wide range of
retaining ring applications with only one tool, eliminating the need for
purchasing multiple limited use tools. All of the Hi-Tech products come with a
Lifetime Limited Warranty and are crafted with pride in the United States of
America.
